25 students from the St. Louis and Southeastern Illinois area have been selected to participate in the 2018-2019 Artist-in-Training program. These students were chosen through a selective audition process. The 2019 AIT class is comprised 12 returning singers and 13 new singers, and represent the Belleville, Clayton, Edwardsville, Ferguson-Florissant, Hazelwood, Ladue, Normandy, St. Louis Archdiocese, St. Louis Public, O’Fallon, Parkway, Pattonville, and Rockwood school districts. Students kicked off the new AIT year with an afternoon retreat which focused on community-building, and featured a question-and-answer session with rising mezzo-contralto, Rehanna Thelwell, who spoke about her journey as a young opera singer. Congratulations to the new 2019 Artists-in-Training class!
